Sophie Lancaster is the founder and Wealth Manager of Heritage Wealth Management, LLC, an independent financial services firm founded in 2009 and based in Gainesville, Florida. With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Sophie has built her practice around a simple belief: in today’s world, the advice of a trusted professional is more valuable than ever, and independent advice from an advisor who takes the time to understand your personal dreams and goals is essential.
Sophie brings a global perspective to her work with clients. Born in Zimbabwe, she has lived in Australia and Japan, experiences that shaped her appreciation for the diverse circumstances, goals, and life stories her clients bring to the table. That cross-cultural background, paired with her deep care and compassion for the families she serves, is at the heart of how she approaches every client relationship.
Her career in financial services began at Edward Jones, where she built a practice from the ground up in the Newberry, Florida community, getting to know clients face-to-face, understanding their investment needs, and delivering personalized recommendations to help them work toward their goals. That hands-on, relationship-first approach remains the foundation of Heritage Wealth Management today.
Sophie earned her Master of Business Administration from Saint Leo University. She holds the Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and Series 66 (Investment Adviser Representative) registrations and is licensed to offer life, health, and long-term care insurance, as well as annuities. Through her affiliations with Cetera Advisors LLC, Sophie has access to a broad range of innovative investment strategies and resources to help her create customized plans tailored to the individual needs of each client.
Beyond the Office
Sophie’s life outside of work is rooted in faith, family, and giving back. She is the founder of Batsirai Widows and Orphans, a nonprofit organization founded in 2009 dedicated to providing educational support for orphans in Zimbabwe, a mission that reflects her lifelong commitment to honoring her roots and creating opportunity for the next generation. Alongside her husband of 23 years, Sophie serves as Co-Pastor of Activate Church Gainesville, where they pour into their community and walk alongside families in every season of life.
Above all, Sophie and her husband have been blessed with three remarkable children, who are the pride and joy of their lives. Their oldest, Munashe, is happily married and continues to make them proud as he builds a life of his own. Their son Malachi, whose bright spirit and joyful presence touched everyone who knew him, was called home in December 2024 at the age of 18, and his memory remains a treasured and ever-present blessing in their family. Their youngest, Natalie, is preparing to begin her senior year of high school, and Sophie cherishes every moment of this season with her. Her children have shaped her in ways no career ever could, and the love, laughter, and legacy they share as a family is what grounds everything she does, at home, at church, and in her work with clients.
